Here it is already. I'm "doing" Thanksgiving at my house this year, and haven't even started planning anything....oh, well. It'll just happen and will be fine!

Moving on

Richard's service was lovely yesterday. The weather was great - cool breezes blowing across the fields. He is content.

Death of a sibling

My younger brother died this morning....he would have been 60 years old on October 8th. I will miss him.

Getting older and loss

We know to expect and go through the loss of our parents.....but dealing with the process of a severe illness with a younger sibling is more difficult for me. One of my younger brothers has been ill for a number of months, and now has been placed in hospice care.....too soon!

Red on Fridays

Well, I do wear red on Fridays.
Remember those emails asking us to wear red to honor our USA troops overseas? and those asking us to wear red for the Astros? and the ones to promote heart health for women? Well, I support all of those causes, along with many others, but, you know, I don't see anyone else minding those emails and wearing red on Fridays.....am I just gullible? You betcha!

Travelling

I'm getting the itch to travel...on the road again! Think I'll stay in Texas this time. Just do some backroads investigations.

Birthday!

Today is my 62nd Birthday.....I can retire today (but won't). I enjoy the $$ I am making. Those trips to Vegas would have to stop - and I love ka-ching, ka-ching!!

I am so excited! Kate and Sherman called me from Geneva, Switzerland, just to wish me a Happy Birthday! What a wonderful surprise. And so great to hear their voices.

Makes getting older much better to have friends like that.

Spending $$$

Happy July 4th! I'm a little early, you bet....but I'll be away from computer for four days.
I'm off this weekend to buy patterns and fabric. Hancock's and Jo-Ann's are having fabulous sales. As if I needed any more of either of them, but, you just never know, there may come a time there is a fabric/pattern shortage in the workd, and I'll certainly be ready!

That's me --- I'm a blogaholic. Love the fashion blogs, and the millinery blogs, and the gardening blogs, and the travel blogs.....can't get any work done for reading blogs.

Well, here I am again.......

It's Thursday, garbage day in my neighborhood. The guys come early, so I have to put my trash can out at night. Last week, I went out early to add some trash to my bin, and noticed someone else had dumped their stuff in my receptable. Drive-by trashing? At least it was in the can, right! That's an improvement.

I'm thinking about moving (yes, family, again).....I have roaming feet and like to relocate often. Can't stay in once place to long. Have been researching rental properties in my area. Wow, are those landlords proud of their houses. Rents have increased to the point that to move "up" and stay in the same price range, I would have to go from a three-bedroom, one-bath, large kitchen, very large yard with lots of trees --- to a one-bedroom (or teeny two-bedroom), one-bath apartment for the same price. Well, I can stay where I am for the time being, and just travel more. Vegas, here I come!

First Day

Well, here I am....now what do I do. Will take a day or so (or maybe a few), or maybe will be right back. You just never know with us "old ladies".
